Villagers get multiple benefits from grazing lands after mine clearance

“The presence of mines and explosive remnants of war created many problems for us during the past decades civil war. At that time we were not able to graze our animals and collect firewood from the nearby hills and mountains,” said Najibullah, resident of Sare – Tunnel village of Khinjan district, Baghlan province.

US Central Command praises IRU for driving trade and peace in Afghanistan

Major General Robert R. Ruark and Colonel Ted Hodgson today addressed the IRU’s General Assembly and expressed US Central Commands’ great appreciation for the IRU’s intensive and complementary efforts those of US CENTCOM in moving Afghanistan from aid to trade by allowing road transport to drive progress, prosperity and ultimately peace in this war-torn country and throughout the Central Asian region.
